Our Story
MixWave Radio started the way most things do: out of boredom and mild delusion. During the COVID lockdowns, bedroom DJing became the hobby of choice — learning the basics, building a library, occasionally clearing rooms. Life got busier. The decks gathered dust. But the domain didn't expire. With nearly a decade of registration still left on mixwaveradio.com and nothing better to do one afternoon, Claude Code was handed a task and asked to just see what happened.
What came out the other side was this — a 24/7 AI-powered stream that actually works. The AI handles the DJing now, using real machine learning to do what used to take hours of manual work:
- AI Stem Separation — Neural networks isolate vocals, drums, and bass for cleaner transitions
- Intelligent BPM Matching — Tracks are analyzed and tempo-aligned automatically
- Harmonic Mixing — Machine learning ensures key compatibility between tracks
- Phrase Detection — The AI identifies natural transition points so cuts don't land in the middle of a build

Is MixWave Radio free?
Yes. No account, no subscription, no signup. Hit play. That's it. There is no step two.
What genres do you play?
House, deep house, tech house, and electronic music. If you're looking for country, we cannot help you and we wish you well.
Is this really AI-generated?
Yes. Real neural networks, real stem separation, real BPM and harmonic analysis. Real mediocre transitions occasionally. Authentic artificial intelligence throughout.
Why does the AI DJ play the same transitions?
The model has favorites. We're working on it. It's also possible the AI has developed taste and we just don't agree with it yet.
Does the AI have taste?
It has data. Whether that constitutes taste is a philosophical question we are not currently equipped to answer.
Why do some tracks sound louder than others?
Loudness normalization is on the to-do list. The to-do list is long.
How do I request a song?
You don't. The AI doesn't take requests. It barely takes direction.
Can I submit a track or mix?
Yes. Send it to [email protected]. We'll take a listen. No guarantees beyond that.
Is the station actually 24/7?
Yes, unless the Mac Mini has other plans. We do our best.
Why is there no mobile app?
The mobile browser works fine. Also we spent the app budget on Serato plugins.
